ABOUT NIKOS

From an early age I trained to be a 'Classical Musician' and I have been performing around the world (based in London) as a Viola Player for over 20 years now.
I have also had a keen interest in Photography for many years which I believe stems from the fact that Music & Photography are both 'art forms' yet opposing ones, & opposites attract. In my view 'Classical Music' is the bringing to life (performing) of something static (the printed pages) and Photography is the capturing in a static form (the photo) of a living/moving/changing 'scene' (the photographic subject). Even a 'still-life' moves as the light falling upon it moves & breathes light into the changing shadows, and still-lifes' under studio conditions have to be cleared away at the end of the session & are therefore then physically taken away from us!
I enjoy photographing anything, be it portraits of my fellow musicians, street scenes, architecture or 'still-lifes' of jewellery etc!
I have had my photos used for music magazines, the BBC Radio3 website, and several CDs on the Chandos Label feature my photos of recording sessions in the insert booklets. In addition local shops have used my work to brighten up their walls!
